Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why? Fry speaks just as I had imagined them speaking all those years back, going through entire volumes of the Sherlock Holmes books in a matter of days. The stories are captivating and thrilling in themselves and Fry takes them to a whole new level, whether it is through his impressions of a bewildered inspector or an awestruck Watson or the matter of fact and dry explanation of Holmes. So much so that Holmes and Watson live on today through the minds and hearts of countless authors and readers where they have created for themselves a permanent space that is as real as it gets. I would recommend the book just for the narration, but that would be belittling Sir Doyle whose ability to breathe life into his characters is amazing. Great timing, excellent delivery, tasteful mimicry and intonations, and the perfect pace. But let me just say, Stephen Fry is absolutely stunning. This isn't my first time reading Sir Doyle, it isn't my second or third either.
